Tuesday, May 25, 2004Sign the petitionDemocracy for America, Howard Dean's new organization that rose from the ashes of his run for the Democratic nomination, has a petition up on their website to ensure that the voting machines that count our votes in November actually work. Many of the electronic machines don't leave a papertrail so that the voter can verify their vote. They're also easily manipulated and have lots of bugs. Democracy for America is planning on delivering the petition to Congress and the secretaries of every state. If people aren't confident that their vote is being counted properly, they won't vote.
